The family tree is usually a full list of ancestors, or more specifically, a chart used in genealogy to show family relationships between individuals.

Usually the tree is built using the boxes, circular and square for males and females, containing the names of each person, often accompanied by additional information such as date and place of birth and death, in some cases entering employment or profession. These symbols are arranged from top to bottom in chronological order, are connected by lines representing different types of marriages and extramarital unions and the offspring.

Some restrict the use of the term to indicate only the patrilineal descent, although in common usage the term is also used more generally.

In some cases, for example, if you can not insert a chart, you can describe the ancestors of a person using a genealogical chart.

To build family trees ... HELP!?
You know free programs that help build, with preset patterns, family trees? Parentistretti.it type, but I need something that is not a site that I can run without Internet

Additional Details
how to use Family Tree Builder? I tried to make a family tree, but for example, I can not see my uncles in the diagram ... my parents and I see huge ... In short?!?!

You can create a family tree online or get the program working on it, and then publish your work ...
that (for now) is the most famous and used (only online, no program).

As you can see, you are spoiled for choice! Just a small registration!
As I said, I personally have downloaded the free program (the first link of my list), I started working on it, and every time you change some contribution to my tree, I publish on my personal website, so all my friends can see the fruits of my work (you can decide whether to make public or accessible only to users authorized by you).
Then with the same software you can organize your photos, dates, making searchable database of many, and you can even sync your tree with those of your friends.
is a fantastic program!
try it, do not be disappointed!

Hello hello!

PS: Some sites also allow you to do research. If your relatives have emigrated to America, see this site (in English, but it is easy to see):

I helped a lot.

So ... I'll help you now expects ...
After you have created you and your parents to see the tree you choose you and then go to "Diagrammii" (top) and choose "Diagram of the ancestor" and then select Portrait or landscape ...
Your parents will see huge because it's just you ... to reduce the size you should find a bar at the top where it says "Generations" ... is used to zoom in on your tree.
To create and view your uncles must first create your grandparents, and then add their children (your father, your mother, your uncles, etc ...)
If you need more help add more details or send me an e-mail!

On 2 October will be the feast of grandparents in the house and P. We have already put in motion to organize something special. Little Rascal among other things is - for now - the only (ahinoi!) grandchild of both families' nonnifere "and so it takes days for him and for their great importance.

So I started thinking about some nice thought that was not the usual setting, the usual card with photo or calendar 2010 with PF on the front page. I know I am always delighted to receive this type of grandparent gifts, but seeing his son's face on every wall and shelf at home, every time you visit them, I must admit that worries me ;-)

It 'a little' I thought to create a family tree, more for that little rascal gift idea. PF calls uncles and aunts, some dear friends (friendship is so deep and longstanding that we consider them in effect members of the family :-)), but I noticed that PF has no clear meaning of the term "uncle" : that does not grasp that his uncles are our brothers (no sisters in the family, ARGH! ;-), the children of his grandparents, and aunts are their partners / wives! He gives' the meaning of the term Uncle person very close and loved, but not relative.

Initially, then, I had thought about creating a family tree to clarify this relationship in PF, but then it seemed to me a beautiful gift to make. The idea indeed was suggested by Laura (you're always an inspiration :-)) who told me of a wonderful tree made by them and their children, and given, then, grandparents or some major event.

Our tree is not very complicated, so that little rascal can participate actively in the creation and make it more fun (and useful to PF), we use small photographs with family and given names.

For me to be a bit 'of ideas, I wandered on a network, where I found a lot of material:

About.com (with 3 simple models can be used and a family tree of the whole cloth)
     Pbs.org (with beautiful templates)
hreoc.gov.au (with an image and cards for use in any teaching-related activities. In English and grown-ups)
KidsTurnCentral.com (with a very simple model, a tree made of bears and a more complex model)
Wikitree.com (with many images already prepared)
FamilyTreeKids (with a simple and nice model)
OhDeedOh (with a magnificent example of a family tree)
     DigUpYourRoots (with many original models)
VictoriaQuiltDesigns.com (for lovers of needle and thread, 2 beautiful examples of family tree of all cloth)
MarthaStewartCrafts (with instructions on how to create a truly unique craft)
CambridgeShire.gov.uk (with a tree model very suitable for children)
BusyBeeKidsCrafts.com (with instructions to create a magnificent tree with finger paint)
Kodak.com (to achieve a sapling original)
     Megghy.com (with a beautiful cross-stitch pattern)
Religion 2.o (with a beautiful model that you can edit with Photoshop)

So I started to do some 'tests of some models and I created a family tree to use as a base. For the second thing I made, with a simple (if I use it!) Photo-retouching program, many small format photographs by inserting for each name.

I could easily merge tree and photos with the same photo-retouching program, but rather that this work does so little rascal: I have been printed, the photos, I cropped and incolleremo together. Grandparents will appreciate more and we gon 'get the double!

In addition to use as a base for the tree model of the computer, we also made a simple collage of tree using adhesive paper (green and brown). The result is satisfactory, and so, once glued and framed photos of the two "masterpieces", we will have our beautiful family trees: one for the paternal grandparents and one for mother!

For now our craft are still costruizione yesterday Little Rascal would stick family photos on the design of the witch who was painting, rather than on our trees (okay ...) and so I put off until better times the assembly work, - )

I will show you the photos you just finished!
