Layout and printing of a family tree
I refer to the sector Heraldry, Heraldry Greek, and site displayed http://ghyka.com/Familles/Mano/Mano_01.pdf.
Ask the experts:
- What program they used to put in a single sheet across the genealogy?
- All can be printed on one sheet, but illegible, given the size of the print too small (3 or 4)
- On the monitor everything is easy to read, just to see 75 or 100%. Obviously, for printing "readable" need more sheets, but I was not able to print multiple sheets, and then paste the entire genealogy.
How do?
Thank you.

Hi
The PDF file for downloading can not open it from Photoshop to Illustrator because it requires a password.
Open with Preview (we're on the mac) seems like a long sheet of paper horizontally and would also be printable in A4 and A3 (Printer, which few have) a significant reduction in pain but then I think that prevents an easy read.
My advice would be to bring the document to the actual dimension that is 100% make it to print snapshots aggiuntare individually and then one to the other.
Tomorrow I see a friend who has an Epson A3 we see if we can find a loophole and sort it out.

Re: Creation and printing of a family tree
Perhaps, again, maybe I get by with a loophole. I have a portable scanner that also has a program that captures what you want inside of the screen. And so, to squat and pieces, you could then reincollaree everything. But I am not satisfied.
We want a system that allows you to print, even in multiple sheets to be joined later, still A4.
There remains the other problem that you can not interact on the page (adding or deleting names or data) without having the program in question.
Thank you for your willingness

Dear Joseph,
I obviously do not know which elements to word-processing software was used to build the family tree of Manu / Hand / Manos. I can tell you however that with a A4 laser printer (which I paid a hundred euros) are able to print it without problems in the original size (about 150x40 cm) of ten sheets. It 's enough to use the "poster".

Hi
I found the file size: 120x33 cm!
The trick is to use Adobe Distiller to split the whole file in 6 documemnti A4 to 20x33, and then print them individually aggiuntarli. Otherwise you need a printer that accepts roll or contact a service.
Tomorrow let's see how you can do.
Greetings

Dear friends,
to me it only takes two clicks: the measures and the pattern are evident in the image of the "dialog"

Our Moderator, Guido 5, showed us how to print clearly, and I thank him. However, remains unsettled is the primary question: what program may have used the compiler of the genealogy?

Re: Creation and printing of a family tree
Hi
The document is encrypted or password-covered that is not editable by anyone outside of the owner of the keyword. As we are well and I assume other people do not assume correct even remotely able to open it, then the file is only readable and printable.
The possibility is suggested by Guido5 linked to the printer driver being MEP (the laser) for the purpose of office is more suitable than an ink jet oriented instead to photography.
However, even my Epson has this capability. Or create a new print format from 1200x330mm document oriented North-South and collate print option that will break the entire issue in many parts of the lower side of which the height of an A4.

That infamous document was produced with a program suite that can record in Adobe PDF, such as Adobe Acrobat Pro X or Illustrator or In Design or Quark X Press: http://success.adobe.com/it/it/sem / prod ... 7499670775
Even Microsoft Word to PDF and record the programs described above are born geared to a printer and then always the most suitable for this purpose.
The prerogative of the PDF file is to have within it the geometrical information of the characters (fonts) so if you were to print it at a print shop is no longer required to bring even the characters themselves, which they did before, so much is that the printers were full of fonts supplied by their customers with the device and necessary for proper printing.
Now the PDF file contains all the basic information and is not just a simplification.
However, if I had my way I would go to a service and I will return home with a nice cardboard tube that has so much flavor from the archives. Or sort-leaf or tree pleated!
Or one or the atro.

Hi
Password protection of files it seems to me correct in that anyone could alter the data expressed as well as add and remove names or change dates of birth and death is in an effort to correct errors in how much you want to change the story.
Subject to errors that could potentially be from the beginning .........

Re: Creation and printing of a family tree
Personally I have tried various programs to try to do a family tree sketched like this but in the end, beyond the issue of the print (relatively easily resolved in various ways as brilliantly explained above), it is still limited programs. When I got to have something to do in my tree with about 3000 names (with a further spouse and possibly "the descendants of daughters", and already with the first traveling about 4500) I gave up and the only way (to me) is used to write everything exactly as do the many sites that are located on the network (with the use of letters and numbers to distinguish between the generations). Beyond then the ease with which you can enter changes.
